Hogback GRVL

April 25th, 2026

Scenic Madison County limestone gravel…

What to Expect

This is Hogback GRVL — your pick of the 66.7 mile (whole hog) or the 42.3 mile (half hog) on gravel gold. Whether you choose to race, set a PR, or just enjoy the scenery with the gravel family, Hogback GRVL will meet you head on. The nearly all gravel course, connected by brief paved sections, will allow you to test your limits or enjoy the scenery. There are no B-level roads — all dust, no mud.

When the limestone dust settles for the day we’ll celebrate the winners, the finishers, the PR’s at the Ventling Farm @ 1227 Coolidge St., Cumming, Iowa.

For the Family…

“Not another bike race weekend” we can already hear the family . We’ve got you covered with our neighbors to the east Wilson’s Orchard and their fun farm related activities and full service restaurant. If a trip down memory lane is more your family’s speed they could head in to Winterset and visit the John Wayne Birthplace museum or the Iowa Quilt Museum. The start/finish is only 16 minutes south of Jordan Creek Town Center, Iowa’s largest shopping center!

The Finish Party!

No great bike race ever ended with “let’s go home” — hence why we’re celebrating together.

Every great event — especially those requiring participants to work hard and get dirty — should have a killer afterparty. A time to celebrate, a time to look back and take in what was just accomplished, and to discuss the future of biking with your newfound community of gravel-racing enthusiasts. Following our big race, we’ll enjoy drinks, grub, and more at the Ventling Farm @1227 Coolidge St., Cumming, IA — where the race begins and ends.

All are welcome, regardless of race participation or age.
